Almost 30 brethren recently gathered at Cleveleys Masonic Hall to witness Niall Coxey being initiated into Freemasonry at West Lancs Century Lodge No 2349. This was the eighth initiation ceremony for this lodge in the past two years, and made extra special due to the fact that Niall’s dad, Scott Coxey, is already a member of the lodge.
The Worshipful Master, Derek Wilde, invited the senior warden, Roy Morden, to occupy the master’s chair for the ceremony. The candidate was impeccably conducted around the lodge by the junior deacon, Adam Turner, and the working tools of this degree were well presented by the junior warden, Raymond Bird.
The charge in this degree was delivered in an exemplary manner by the senior warden, Roy Morden. Everyone agreed that it had been an incredible ceremony, full of emotion with the highest standards of ritual, culminating in the delivery of the “address to a Lewis” being delivered by Niall’s dad, Scott Coxey.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the candidate Niall was congratulated and welcomed into the lodge by Damon Tait, group mentor, who presented him with his welcome pack.
The brethren then enjoyed a marvellous festive board, at which a raffle took place which raised £117 for charities, and at the conclusion of a splendid evening the Tyler’s toast was delivered by Ryan Modlin, a guest from Baines Lodge No 7844.
