The brethren of Normoss Round Table No 8741 and assembled guest gathered at the Park club Cleveleys for their annual Burns night celebration.
The tables were suitably decked out in tartan with shots of whisky for the traditional fare of Scotch broth, haggis and roast beef with suitably themed whisky trifle to finish served with style by the Park club retiring caterer Jane Peters.
Amongst the guest was Matron Sue Roberts, the head of Blackpool Victoria Hospital’s accident and emergency department who took the opportunity to present worshipful master Alan Berwick and Elaine Edwards of Great Arley School Thornton with thank you certificates for the presents that were donated to the department to give to the sick children who visited the department over the Christmas period
As for anyone going thirst, well that was pretty unlikely too, Paul Limberly was presented with a trophy for being the lodge’s most able whiskey steward, and he managed to successfully dispense over three litres of amber nectar to the assembled guests during the evening.
With everyone well wined and dined the raffle raised over £230 which delighted the lodge steward Ray and find its way to good causes.
