Normoss Round Table send presents to the hospital

Normoss Round Table Lodge No 8741 enjoyed a fabulous Christmas Sunday lunch at Cleveleys Masonic Hall recently. After dinner entertainment was provided by Hugh Mett, who sang several Christmas classics and told a few jokes of the Christmas cracker variety.

Uniquely the lodge had decided to ask guests to bring a couple of wrapped presents each and over 80 were donated in total. These were later taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital Children’s A and E department, and any child who is admitted over the Christmas period will receive one of these gifts.

Lodge members met with hospital staff who thanked them for their generosity.

Sue Roberts a matron and head of A&E added

We utilised 25,26,27 December as the amount of gifts was amazing. 31 girls and 60 boys, a total of 91 children were seen over this period
and the presents were received by the children with much delight. The
staff even gave some presents to siblings as a few who attended were
in great need of cheering up.
Once again your generosity was very much appreciated from all of the
team within the Emergency Department.
Best wishes for 2017.
