Almost 40 brethren assembled at Cleveleys Masonic Hall to witness Ken Peaks being installed into the WM’s chair of Lodge of Good Hope No 6937. Ken had previously been the master of this fine lodge back in 1993.
The attending officer on this occasion was North Fylde Group Vice Chairman Peter Greathead, supported by fellow grand officers Raymond Neal, Jack Coates, Tony Hough and group chairman Duncan Smith, together with acting Provincial grand officer Alex Tomlinson.
With the regular lodge business dispatched by the master Bill Rogerson, it was time to install the master elect Ken Peaks. The master proceeded to invite John Chesters to act as installing senior warden, Peter Whiteside to remain as installing junior warden and Eric Metcalfe to act as installing inner guard. Ken was then presented by his good friend John Chesters.
Ken was installed in a sincere manner by Bill Rogerson, with assistance from John Pitches. The working tools were particularly well presented by John Pitches, Peter Nutland and Brian Taberner. Peter Whiteside then delivered the address to Ken, which was followed by addresses to the wardens by Andrew Harrison and the address to the brethren by Peter Greathead.
At the conclusion of the installation Peter congratulated Bill on the manner in which he had installed Ken and thanked the assistant director of ceremonies, John Pitches, for his invaluable contribution.
The brethren were treated to a wonderful festive board and in Peter’s response he wished the new master good health and an enjoyable year ahead. The toast to the newly made master was given by Bill Rogerson and the master’s song was rendered by Shaun Haynes. At the conclusion of a marvellous evening the tyler’s toast was presented by Bob Major.
