Fleetwood Masonic Hall was once again the venue for 40 brethren to witness Rev Canon John Hall being installed as the new master of Pharos Lodge No 7421.
The lodge members were delighted to receive Assistant Provincial Grand Master Harry Cox, supported on this occasion by North Fylde Group Chairman Duncan Smith, group vice chairman Peter Greathead, Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master Terry Hudson and acting Provincial grand officer Alan Howie.
With the regular lodge business dispatched by the master John Eastwood, he proceeded to invite Ken Holden to act as installing senior warden, Mike Brayshaw to act as installing junior warden and Steve Hagan to act as installing inner guard.
The master elect was expertly presented by Greg Grove and thereafter installed in an excellent manner by John Eastwood. The third, second and first degree tools were deftly explained in turn by Ian Glass, Dennis Smith and Brian Crawford.
The address to the new master was given in fine style by Greg Grove, whilst Duncan Smith gave the address to the wardens and to conclude the ceremony Harry Cox delivered the address to the brethren of the lodge.
Conveying the greetings of the Provincial Grand Master to the lodge members and visitors, Harry thanked John Eastwood for his contribution and congratulated all who had taken part in the ceremony. He wished the new master well for the ensuing year.
John presented Harry with a cheque for £200 to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity and another for £300 to the Masonic Charitable Foundation 2021 Festival. Harry thanked the members of the lodge on behalf of the recipients for their generosity.
The brethren duly retired to the comfortable surroundings of the bar and ultimately the dining room where they enjoyed an excellent meal. A raffle raised £194 for charities. Peter Draper rendered the master’s song, and at the conclusion of a superb evening Mike Brayshaw delivered the tyler’s toast.
