The installation of Andrew Harrison as master of Lodge of Good Hope No 6937 took place at Cleveleys Masonic Hall, the second time he has taken on the role. The representative of the Provincial Grand Master on this occasion was David Thomas, supported by North Fylde Group Chairman Duncan Smith, group vice chairman Peter Greathead, Jack Coates, Tony Hough and Raymond Neal, together with acting Provincial grand officer Daren Gardner.
With the regular lodge business dispatched by the master Ken Peaks, he proceeded to invite John Chesters to act as installing senior warden, Peter Whiteside to act as installing junior warden and John Gledhill to act as installing inner guard. The master elect was presented in an excellent manner by Jack Coates.
Andrew was ably and sincerely installed by Ken and the working tools were particularly well presented by David Sangster, David Holloway and Peter Nutland. Peter Whiteside then delivered the address to Andrew, which was followed by addresses to the wardens by John Gledhill and to the brethren of the lodge by David Thomas
At the conclusion of the installation, David congratulated Ken on the manner in which he had installed Andrew and expressed his wish for the master to have a happy and healthy year in office.
It was reported that several cheques had already been dispersed to various causes, including one for £1,200 to the Masonic Charitable Foundation 2021 Festival, with Trinity Hospice and Brian House being among the other beneficiaries.
The brethren enjoyed a sumptuous festive board at which a raffle took place, raising £185 for charities. The toast to the newly made master was given by Ken Peaks, and the master’s song was rendered by Shaun Haynes. At the conclusion of a wonderful evening, the final toast of the evening was given by the tyler Bob Major.
