Children’s hospice receives a cheque from Freemasons

At every installation it is always a pleasure and a privilege for a lodge to be able to hand over cheques to charities and worthy causes. It is even more gratifying to able to deliver the cheque to the worthy recipients in person.

This was the case for Ashton Jarvis, the immediate past master of Bispham-with-Norbreck Lodge No 4731 that meets at Cleveleys Masonic Hall, when he and another member of the lodge went along to Brian House to present the donation.

Ashton, together with Steve Willingham the lodge charity steward, attended Brian House Children’s Hospice in Blackpool in order to present a cheque for £350. In appreciation of their efforts, they were given a full VIP tour of the hospice by Emma Padgett, the Community Fundraiser for Brian House.

Ashton commented after the visit that it had been an informative and emotional event and thanked the hospice for allowing him and Steve the opportunity to visit.
