The brethren of the lodge were delighted to receive John Lee as the representative of the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison, ably supported by North Fylde Group Chairman Duncan Smith and fellow grand officer Malcolm Worsley, Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master of the Province of East Lancashire.

After the regular lodge business had been deftly dispatched by its master Bob Slattery, it was time to install the master elect. Bob proceeded to invite Barry Seddon to act as installing master, who in turn invited Chris Williams to act as installing senior warden, Philip Cole to act as installing junior warden and Michael Gibbons to act as installing inner guard. The master elect Ian Winnard was presented by David Britton.

Ian was ably and sincerely installed by Barry, assisted by Damian Davenport. The working tools of the three degrees were particularly well presented by David Britton, John Laughton and Delwyn Hernen.

David Britton also delivered a faultless address to Ian, which was followed by addresses to the wardens by lodge stalwart Neil Scott, and to the brethren of the lodge by John Lee.

At the conclusion of the installation John, on behalf of the Provincial Grand Master, congratulated Barry on the manner in which he had installed Ian and expressed his wish for the master to have a happy and healthy year in office.

On behalf of the lodge, Ian presented John with several cheques for charities with a magnificent combined total of £916, including £150 to Homestart and £500 to the Masonic Charitable Foundation 2021 Festival. John gave thanks the brethren of the lodge for their generous donations.

The brethren went on to enjoy a superb festive board and were treated to a humorous response to toast five from John Lee. The toast to the newly made master was given by Bob Slattery and the master’s song was rendered by Hugh Mett.

During the festive board a raffle took place which raised £180 for charities. At the conclusion of a splendid evening the tyler’s toast was delivered by Philip Cole.
