Almost 40 companions and guests of Hesketh Royal Arch Chapter No 950 were delighted to receive South Fylde Group Chairman Ian Ward as principal guest at the annual installation meeting at Fleetwood Masonic Hall. Ian was accompanied by Terry Hudson, Stuart Thornber and North Fylde Group Chairman Duncan Smith, together with acting Provincial grand officers Dave Barr, Bob Boal, Juan Topping and Phil Bolton.
The chapter was opened for business by first principal Jim Gregson, second principal Derek Williams and third principal Mark Tomlinson. The three principals elect were presented in turn by the acting director of ceremonies Duncan Smith, with Derek Williams being installed as first principal, Mark Tomlinson as second principal, and David Wright as third principal. The installing officers were Paul Dunne, David Martland, the evergreen Walter Porter and Jim Gregson.
The robe addresses were delivered in an excellent manner by David Leadbetter, Mark Spragg and John England. The address to the three principals was given by a very busy David Leadbetter and the officers of the chapter were invested. Finally, Ian Ward delivered the address to the companions of the chapter.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Ian Ward rose to bring the chapter greetings on behalf of the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison and he congratulated all who had taken part. He was pleased to receive a cheque for £250 to the Masonic Charitable Foundation 2021 Festival.
The companions retired to a wonderful festive board, at which the raffle raised £159. Jim Gregson proposed the toast to the health of the principals, to which Derek Williams gave thanks. At the conclusion of a splendid evening the janitor’s toast was given by Rodney Greenall.
