No changes for Saturnian Chapter

Cleveleys Masonic Hall was the venue for the convocation of Saturnian Chapter No 7563, whose members were delighted to receive Stuart Thornber as the representing officer. Also in attendance were Peter Elmore, Ron Weatherill, Brian Parkin, Norman Thomas, Roger Perry and North Fylde Group Chairman Duncan Smith. They were supported by Bob Boal and Phil Bolton.

The chapter was opened for business by first principal Damian Davenport, second principal Derek Broadbent and third principal Steve Willingham. There followed one of the quickest installation meetings one will ever see, as the three principals were proclaimed as remaining in their exact positions for the ensuing year. The only address given was that to the companions of the chapter by Stuart Thornber.

At the conclusion of the installation ceremony, Stuart wished the three principals well during their coming year in office and commented that it had certainly been a very unusual meeting. The first principal presented him with a cheque for £250 to the Masonic Charitable Foundation 2021 Festival and Stuart thanked the chapter on behalf of the eventual recipients.

At the festive board which followed, which was enjoyed by 33 companions, Stuart delivered an eloquent response to toast number three, making particular reference to the MCF 2021 Festival. A raffle for charities raised £140.

The toast to the health of the three principals was given by Mike Duffy, after which the song to the three principals was rendered by Hugh Mett. At the conclusion of a most enjoyable evening the janitor’s toast was delivered by Gordon Ivett.
