Remembrance Sunday at Thornton

It’s been 100 years to the day since the guns fell silent on the Western Front. Great numbers of people from Thornton and the surrounding area came together at Thornton Cenotaph to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice made by so many during the course of the First World War.

A strong contingent of local Freemasons joined serving servicemen and women, members of uniformed and other local organisations, schoolchildren and civic dignitaries at the Cenotaph in a remembrance ceremony to lay wreaths and to pay tribute to fallen brethren of a century ago.

Chairman of North Fylde Group Peter Greathead laid a wreath at the Cenotaph.IMG_0625 IMG_0624
