Wyre Lodge gives £1000 to Feet First charity

At the most recent meeting of Wyre Lodge No 7704 they were delighted to have Assistant Provincial Grand Master Harry Cox in attendance and it was to be a special evening.

At the festive board, members and guests were to hear a wonderful talk on the work of local charity Feet First, given by Steve Mannion, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Steve has travelled far and wide in his job, and a few years ago he set up this charity to surgically treat children and adults with abnormalities of the limbs, predominantly in Third World countries such as Malawi. With the assistance of a slide show, Steve gave great detail of the fabulous work that he does in the name of charity.

At the conclusion of his presentation, Harry Cox was delighted to hand Steve, on behalf of Wyre Lodge, a cheque to the value of £1000, and thanked him for all his efforts. Steve was also presented with the prestigious Wyre Lodge “Man of the Year” award.

Lodge secretary Martin Clements then had the pleasant duty of presenting soon to be retired Harry Cox with several gifts in recognition of his hard work in the last five years as Assistant Provincial Grand Master.
